Q: Privacy is very important to me. Will my photos be kept confidential?
A: Nude and boudoir photography is an intimate and private affair, and you need to put great trust into your photographer. You can feel 100% confident that all of your photographs will be kept strictly confidential unless you agree in writing to a request to include some of your photos my website. There is absolutely zero pressure to agree to this if you’re asked.
Q: How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been shooting nude and boudoir photography since 2008 and have photographed over 2750 women! And I still love it. 🙂
Q: Some of the women on your website look like professional models? I don’t think I’m skinny/tall/attractive enough to do a shoot like this!
A: The women in my portfolio are just regular women like you and me! Remember the beauty of angles and lighting and flattering posing. These shoots are all about celebrating yourself just as you are. When it comes to women in my portfolio, due to the intimate nature of this type of photography, many women prefer to keep their photos private, so I can only show a small sampling of my work online. This means you’re not seeing the whole spectrum of women who come in for shoots.
Q: Do you have experience photographing all body types and sizes and older women? I’m plus size/have acne/major cellulite/older and I’m worried I won’t look as good as the ladies in your portfolio.
A: Yes, yes and more YES! That’s what makes these shoots so awesome, everyone is different, and each woman brings something entirely unique and interesting to her shoot. I’ll always be working with your most flattering angles, amazing lighting, and of course, some natural retouching will help give that extra oomph.
Q: I think, ok I KNOW, I’m going to be super nervous before my shoot, is everybody?
A: Most women who come in are really nervous, it’s completely expected. This is a first time experience for most. But everyone always relaxes within the first little while of shooting and has a lot fun stepping out of the box. Shoots like this are very liberating and when you walk out of the studio after your shoot, you’ll be on a high – it’s a great feeling. If the unbelievably nervous and shy women I photographed on “How To Look Good Naked” could do this, so can you. Read through some of the REVIEWS to get a better sense of how clients really feel.
Q: I’ve never done anything like this, how will I know how to pose?
A: This is the most common question I get. I’ll direct and guide you throughout the shoot. I’ll be constantly helping you get into the most flattering poses – you won’t have to worry about a thing!
Q: Do I have to bring my own outfits and accessories?
A: Yes. Due to hygienic and sizing issues, you’re responsible for brining anything you’d like to wear in the shoot. Check out my Pinterest board for outfit inspiration. Stick to pieces that you feel awesome in, that’s the most important thing.
Q: Will my images be retouched?
A: All of the packages come with expert post-processing and natural air-brushing which means you can kiss goodbye to blemishes, cellulite, blotchiness, scars, stretch marks (if you so choose). The colours, highlights, shadows and toning will be polished as well.
Q: Do you offer professional hair styling and makeup application at the studio?
A: Yes! I work with a team of very skilled artists who will work their magic on you. Hair and makeup services can be added to any package and will be completed at the studio prior to shooting.
Q: Do you offer photo books and other printing?
A: A full range of high-end photo finishing services are available, including fine art photo books, gallery canvas transfers, and on trend plexi-glass photo mounts and photos on metal.
Q: How much does a shoot with you cost?
A: I offer flexible packages ranging from affordable boudoir teaser mini-shoots, to the full celebrity treatment including professional hair and makeup, fine art coffee table books displaying your images in all of their glory and a large selection of retouched images. I also can create custom packages suited to your needs and budget. Click here to request an info kit.
Q: Will I get to see all of the photos from my shoot?
A: After our shoot, I’ll go through the mass of photos I took and narrow down to your ultimate best shots. I’ll then send proofs to choose your favourites from in a beautiful password protected gallery – there will be anywhere from 100-200 shots in various outfits and in different settings in the studio. Most clients love so many, they end up adding more retouched photos to their package.
Q: Can I meet you and see the studio before I book my shoot?
A: Of course! I offer free consultations to anyone interested. If you’d like to get a sneek peek at the studio, click here. We can also set up a phone date or video chat.
Q: How do I book a shoot?
A: Please fill out the contact form, send an email or give the studio a call to get full details on pricing and to book your session. Once we’ve settled on a date for your shoot, a $100 non-refundable (however it is transferrable to another date) is due.
Q: How far in advance do you book and what are your shooting hours
A: To get your ideal spot, booking early is best as timeslots fill up very quickly, especially on weekends and before Christmas and Valentine’s Day. But don’t worry if you’re short on time; I can usually accommodate some last minute bookings. Shoots take place at my studio between 10am and 4pm on either a weekday or weekend and evening time-slots can be accommodated on special request.
Q: Where do your photo shoots take place?
A: Most shoots happen at my boudoir studio, which is located at 140 Wheeler Avenue, just off Queen St East in The Beach neighbourhood in Toronto. All visits are by appointment only. Shoots in other cities, such as for my boudoir marathons in Montreal and NYC, will take place in high-end hotels which will be determined beforehand.
Q: I just turned 18, can I book your services?
A: All clients must be consenting legal adults with proof of I.D. upon request.
Q: How long does the entire process from shoot to delivery typically take?
A: Depending on your package inclusions, completion can be in as little as one week, or, if you’re getting a book printed, one month.
